LIGHT DUTY FLOOR LOCKS

CUSTOM TRUCK LOCKS

Bond Truck Locks hold castered equipment

in a fixed position.

These rugged semi steel truck locks are easily fitted to the underside of castered equipment to prevent inadvertent movement. Stepping on the petal activates a toggle action engaging the large spring loaded, friction based, brake disk tightly against the floor (see Photograph A). Pressing on the release rod with less than 7 foot pounds disengages the lock (see Photograph B).

Suggested mounting configuration:

For equipment with two rigid and two swivel casters, a single truck lock mounted between the swivel casters is sufficient. Equipment with four swivel casters should have two truck locks, mounted on opposite sides of the equipment.

Note: locks are designed to firmly fix the position of the equipment, not to lift it off the floor.

Bond Truck Locks are easy to maintain and repair.

Only an annual greasing is suggested for maintenance

Parts are available and repaired with press nuts or “C” clips

To specify the model Truck Lock use the locked height that is the same as the overall height of the caster or the distance from the floor to the mounting location. You can use up to a ¼” higher locked height of the truck lock than this overall height.

Note that truck locks or floor locks are designed to firmly fix the position of the equipment, not lift the equipment off the floor.

Maintenance:

Bond Truck Locks are easily maintained.

Spare parts are available on request; most commonly purchased are the floor pads and lower springs. Floor pads will wear and require replacement. Lower springs break when moved with the truck locks in the extended position.

LIGHT DUTY FLOOR LOCK

Bond offers a lighter duty yet very sturdy floor lock for applications with lighter loads such as warehouse "picking" carts. These are commonly called "tube" floor locks based on the construction materials. They follow a similar principle for operation as the Bond heavy duty product with a spring loaded brake pad. Not recommended for use on uneven surfaces.

This floor lock is an ideal way to securely imobilize castered equipment. One floor lock is used when there are swivel and rigid casters and two floor locks are used when there are all swivel casters.

The mounting plate is the same for all Model Floor Locks:

Top plate is 4" X 4-1/2"

Bolt hole spacing is 2-5/8" X 3-5/8" slotted holes (3" X 3" on center)

Bole Hole size is 3/8"

STAINLESS STEEL FLOOR LOCK

Bond offers a STAINLESS STEEL floor lock for steam cleaning and clean room applications. These are commonly called "tube" floor locks based on the construction materials. They follow a similar principle for operation as the Bond heavy duty product with a spring loaded brake pad. These are not recommended on uneven flooring.

The mounting plate is the same for all Model Floor Locks:

Top plate is 4" X 4-1/2"

Bolt hole spacing is 2-5/8" X 3-5/8" slotted holes (3" X 3" on center)

Bole Hole size is 3/8"

Custom Truck Locks

Custom Truck Locks are available when the locked height is not correct or when the retracted height interferes with floor obstructions. The truck locks are made to have a small amount of all around movement for standard applications. When movement is a problem, such as robotics, we can provide a product to reduce the movement to a minimum. See our Custom Truck Lock page.
